If your not familiar with a Home Theater PC (HTPC) or Media Center appliance, it's basically a device that combines some or all the capabilities of a personal computer with a software application that supports video, photo, music playback, and sometimes video recording functionality. There are software options for each of the major operating systems: Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. The software is sometimes called "Media Center Software".
